I recently had an enjoyable "me time" at Lian, Batangas in my new-found gem in the south, simple, but the water is pristine, the locales are friendly and most of all, it's safe even if you stay alone.

Tomodachi Beach Resort offers Native Nipa Huts Accommodation good for big family reunions, barkada outings, or team buildings. It offers a beautiful sunset and a long stretch of shoreline. Though the sand in Brgy. San Diego Lian, Batangas is naturally grey, I can assure you that the water is 100% clean.                         

I arrived at the resort in the afternoon, and while the sun was too high, I took advantage of it to work and eat lunch. At around 5PM, the water seems very calm. I went to the beach with my newfound locale friends.

                                

The sunset was so nice! The water was warm and very calm. It's exactly what I needed, realizing that like the sunset, beautiful things come and leave so quickly, it will mesmerize you for a moment, and if you are not quick enough to appreciate the beautiful things in life, you might not enjoy them until they're gone.

                                      

                                             

                                                     

                                             

          

                                        

                                               

                                     

       

The resort has a restroom, kitchen (where you can bring food to cook), open pavilion, three native nipa huts with bunk beds, and a dining area. The whole area can accommodate 15 to 20 people.

Although there is no electricity in the area, the resort is well-lit, with solar lights in every corner.

Their water resource for bathing and washing comes from a manual water pump, well I can say that I enjoyed pumping the post, nothing beats hard work for your own pail of water.

At night, you will hear nothing but the clash of water to the shore, and the cool sea breeze. I went out of my hut to gaze at the stars, I can't imagine how big the world is, and what a waste if people dwell on negativities. Alone time is enjoyable, and finding some balance and peace of mind. That night, I slept with peace in my heart, remembering that above anything else, I love myself, I appreciate myself, and I value myself because no one can pour from an empty cup.

I woke up early the next morning to witness the sunrise. I walked a little in the barangay and on the beach. I appreciate how simple yet happy the lives of the people there are. It may be very far from how I live my life, but living in this beautiful place is a treasure.  I even stumbled on one of the caretaker's houses, and we had a little chit-chat about their life. I was amazed by her story, that she and her husband had been waiting for 13 years to have a child, yet after long years they were blessed with twins, a boy, and a girl. I realized that miracles come to those who have faith in Him.

Some fishermen offer freshly caught fish, lobster, and squid. Unfortunately, I could not buy any of them because I did not bring a cooler. So, when you come here, it's advisable to bring one so you can take advantage of the cheaper price of fresh seafood.

Until it was time to go home. But I had a great time, carrying home peace with me and hope that no matter what life brings, I just have to be brave and let God.

My overall experience? 5/5. Cleanliness of the place, easy transaction, proximity of the place, safety, and peace.

Celebrating Mother's Day at Isdaan Floating Restaurant

Being a mother is the most precious achievement I ever had. Whenever I look at my kids when they are sleeping, I feel so relieved that I will have a "love life" forever. They are the reason for my smiles.

That is when I understood how protective moms are. So, now that it's Mother's Day, my siblings and I surprised our mom with a simple treat, a QUALITY TIME for her.

The plan was really fast, but we decided to bring her to ISDAAN FLOATING RESTAURANT.

Isdaan Floating Restaurant is a big and festive restaurant in Calauan, Laguna. The other branch is located in Gerona, Tarlac.

The area was crowded when we arrived together with a long list, I was not able to reserve because we just decided to drop by. But because we were so excited to see what is inside the "Restau-Themed Park", we patiently waited.

While waiting, you can get yourself entertained by taking selfies and by wearing costumes and making a pose on their photobooth, too bad we weren't able to get a picture on their photo booth because the weather was too hot and it is not ideal to put on costumes.


Isdaan Floating Restaurant is not only famous for seafood, for our lunch, but we also ordered Barrio Fiesta's Mama Chit Special. It's a mixed fried food (Fried Chicken, Fried Liempo, Fried Calamares, Fried Shanghai, Fried Lumpiang Together again, Fried Crab, and Mixed mangoes, tomatoes, and onion with bagoong.) This also comes with free SPECIAL ULAM (For that day it's GINATAANG UPO), all these for P999 ONLY.

We also order Crispy Pata, we got it for 290 pesos instead of 580 pesos, and Kare Kareng gulay for 340 pesos. They serve "Bagong Sinaing sa Kaldero" for 138 pesos, so we got 3 kalderos.

             And becauseit was a special day, crews at Isdaan Floating Restaurant go around and serenade moms on their "kubos" while eating lunch.

After lunch, we walked around to take as many photos as we can. It felt like you are in Bali Indonesia at a snap. We were not able to get the free boat ride though because we need to hurry and get back home, but yeah, it's free, just give 20 pesos tip to the "bangkero". It was a fun-filled and tummy-filled day, enjoyable yet practical. We will surely come back for more.

Sigsaga Yakiniku Buffet

Well, I am not really into Samgyeopsal or Korean food, but I just really want to satisfy my craving and my curiosity about this Sigsaga Buffet (I came across their Facebook page) I really wonder why there are a lot of people coming into this buffet restaurant in BF Resort Las Pinas.



So I called at around 5:00 PM to reserve a table for 7
pax at 7:30 PM. I wanna make sure that I do not wait in line, so if you are clever enough, always make a reservation but do not be late. They will give you a 15 minutes grace period, if you are not there they will give your table to another group of people (which is fair enough)

So, as expected, the place was jumped packed, but really organized We were welcomed by the very hands-on and courteous manager.  The place does not give you a feeling like the food is not enough. The place is not too big but they have a loft to accommodate more people.

Among the other Korean Restaurants I have been to, Sigsaga has been so far the most affordable.

For only 299 pesos, you will get to enjoy PORK, BEEF, CHICKEN BBQ, AND BUFFET plus UNLIMITED DRINKS AND DESSERT! But wait a minute... If you are not a meat lover person, you can still enjoy with your friends and family members, You can upgrade to 424 pesos and get ALL MEAT BBQ, UNLIMITED DRINKS, AND BUFFET plus UNLIMITED TEMPURA! If you wanna try everything, get the 474 pesos per person and enjoy EVERYTHING, including SHRIMP, SALMON, AND SQUID!

This dessert table was enjoyed by my daughters so much!

My overall experience?  5/5... Food, place, cleanliness, management, and price! Keep it up SIGSAGA! We are hoping for many more branches in the future.

Samantha's 1st Birthday

My Sam-sam grew up so fast I did not even knew it was a year now. Her birthday is April 22, this blog of mine is just a bit too late LOL. SO we had her birthday celebrated at Shakey's Olivarez Plaza on a Sunday afternoon. Too bad, daddy was not around but he made sure everything will work out just fine for her lil daughter. (We love you Daddy!) There was actually a lot in my mind for planning this birthday but I wanted to be really wise and spend not much but still get my visitors entertained and go home with happy tummy. My eldest child Sofia had her 1st birthday at our village's clubhouse. It was a bit expensive with the catering, videography, magic and hosting, and other stuff. Since I'm a grown and more experienced mommy now, I choose practicality over spending.

Shakey's Pizza offers a free use of their venue. I just add a party fee on top of the food I ordered, I think its around 3,900. for the hosting, party amenities which includes balloons, back drop, all the table settings, prizes and goodie bags for the kids. The goodie bags has nice things on it too.  It is a Justice League Girls theme for my baby Sam. I still bought some additional prizes though but they are just a hundred and below toys from Toy Kingdom.

For the food, I ordered 6 of the Shakey's Monster Meal Deal for 2,400 net each. Each of the Monster Meal Deal composes of 2 Family Pizzas, 2 Super Family Pasta (Spaghetti Bolognese and Carbonara Spaghetti) 12 pcs Chicken, Basket of Mojo potatoes, garlic Bread, 3 pitchers of Iced tea. But on the day it was not enough so I ordered another set. My in-laws brought in some Chocolate Revel bars for everybody too baked by James Oliver Lozano you can find him on facebook for your orders this Christmas!

The cupcakes are ordered from my kumare Melina Janda-Baquir, you can find her on facebook so you too can order your cupcakes for special occassions, for only 35 each . The cake for blowing is an Oreo Cake from red Ribbon which I bought for only 500 something.

It was a very nice 2 and a half hour party made lively and fun by Sonny who hosted the entire program and Captain Shakey's appearance.

It was a worry free, "bawas pagod" party!

Affordable and Enjoyable Birthday Party at School

I was thinking before if ordering set of meals from McDonalds or Jollibee would be more affordable and enjoyable for Sofia's 4th birthday,since she is on Pre-School now at Le-Sil Montessori School, I decided to celebrate her birthday at school.

So instead of buying set meals, I went to the grocery and bought the following:

2 Kilos of Spaghetti and Spaghetti Sauce
1 Kilo jumbo hotdog for Spaghetti and 1 kilo jumbo hotdog for Hotdog and marshmallow on stick
1 kilo ground pork
Cheese
2 Kilo chicken leg
breading, cooking oil, seasonings.
Marshmallows, sticks
Birthday banner, invitation cards, birthday hats, lootbags,stationary and pencil ( all in Mickey Mouse Clubhouse theme)
Candies, biscuits, erasers small toys for lootbag contents and game prizes.

So I cooked Spaghetti, Fried Chicken and Hotdogs on Stick and C2 Solo for the drinks and of course RedRibbon Chocolate cake for everybody!

It was a fun filled celebration for all of them, and for my Pia, her baby sister Sam also joined the party. It was am enjoyable event without hurting your pocket too much!
